The Unity Foundation’s mission is to support sustainable, mission-driven nonprofits through capacity-building initiatives, programmatic grantmaking and nonprofit management education. OVERVIEWThe Unity Foundation is a public charity (501c3/509a3) that awards grants to two designated nonprofits (Unity College and Good Will-Hinckley) and other nonprofits engaged in collaborative work with them (see Funding).

Helping Maine Students Become PhilanthropistsIn 2009, Unity Foundation, in collaboration with Jobs For Maine's Graduates, the Maine Community Foundation and UniTel Inc., launched Jumpstart Our Youth, a program designed to advance youth philanthropy in Maine with the intent to build and strengthen communities through youth involvement. 3,200 students in more than 60 locations participated, providing $60,000 to support 70+ nonprofit organizations throughout Maine.
